No more entrance; Truck Drivers to enter Uganda must be COVID-19 negative

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today directed that only truck drivers with negative COVID-19 test results will be allowed into the country.

Following the directive, the Ministry of Health Officials together with COVID-19 Taskforce met with National Logistics Platform of Truck Owners and the Chairperson of Truck owners and resolved to:

1. Mobilize, counsel and test all truck drivers employed in Uganda

2. Adopted and implement “Truck Driver Journey Management System” a Mobile application for all truck drivers to be tested, monitored and quarantined within the system to ensure they remain negative as they proceed with the journey

The above actions will start with effect from today.
