Ministry of Heath officials inspect Elegu border point in Amuru

A delegation from Ministry of Health led by the Minister Hon, Jane Ruth Aceng yesterday inspecting Elegu border point of entry in Amuru district to assess the COVID-19 response activities.

Elegu is located on the border of Uganda and South Sudan and at least 200 trucks are cleared daily from South Sudan.

While taking the opportunity to further sensitize the staff on COVID-19 preventive measures, Dr. Aceng commended the health workers, immigration and security staff for a job well done during this COVID-19 pandemic. She gave them more knowledge on how to avoid the deadly disease caused by Coronavirus.

Meanwhile on behalf of the National Task Force, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr. Diana Atwine received a single cabin pick up truck from the Indian Business Forum as part of their support to the fight against COVID-19 in Uganda.

This truck will aid the COVID-19 in response and transportation of items across the country.
