Government moves in quickly to control locusts invasion

The dangers posed by the imminent invasion of Desert locusts has pushed the government to move in quickly and avert the dangers.


In a move to curb the danger of Locust Invasion in Uganda, vehicles with pesticides have arrived at Kololo today morning from where the pesticides were airlifted straight to Karamoja to help in locusts control.

This was confirmed by NARO Corporate Communications manager Charlotte Kemigyisha.

“Pesticides have this morning arrived at Kololo for airlifting to Karamoja for locust control. Pumps and a second aircraft arrived at Kololo airstrip today morning and were later dispatched to Karamoja,” Charlotte said.
