The date for the annual Kids’ Green Festival this year (2015) has been set according to its organiser, Joseph Masembe. The event is set to take place on 23rd August 2015 at Kololo Airstrip starting from 9am to 6pm.

Sources close to the organizers (My Kid Is A Super Star) told www.showbizuganda.com that preparations for this year’s festivals are in high gears. Lots of big surprises are expected at this year’s event. The Earth Guardians from US will also grace this year’s Green Festival.

Earth Guardian is a tribe of young activists, artists and musicians from across the globe stepping up as leaders and co-creating the future they know is possible. They say, “we are the ones we have been waiting for. We are #Generationryse”,. RYSE is activating the youth-led climate movement and their mission is to empower and elevate the voices of a rising generation of climate solutionaries. The group is excited about their coming to Uganda in August.

The last Green Fest which was on December 21st last year, President Yoweri Museveni came and rapped for the kids. Who knows if he will be there this time round?

The Zoo will also be there and it will be an opportunity to see the new Lion that replaced ‘Kibonge’ the Old lion that died earlier this year.
UWEC, NEMA, Greenwatch Uganda are already on board for this year’s do.
