Popular Nigerian actor Muna Obiekwe who passed away weeks back from a kidney related ailment has been laid to rest today in Nigeria.
Muna Obiekwe was one of the most popular male actors in Nigeria. He died on January 18, 2015 from a kidney related ailment in Lagos. The actor is reported to have been battling with the kidney disease for some time until the situation worsened leading to his death.

He died at around 4:15pm in a hospital in Lagos. He was rushed to the hospital after he collapsed at his home. A Nigerian entertainment news site reports that Muna needed money for his health problems but instead of going public to raise money, he told friends he was planning a stage play to raise money but died before he could do it.
Following the demise of Muna Obiekwe, the Actors Guild of Nigeria released the programme of activities to honour the late Nollywood actor.
In a statement released and signed by AGN’s President, Ibinabo Fiberesima, it was disclosed that the remains of the actor would be laid to rest on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.
The Nollywood actor will be buried at Umudioka, Anambra State, and several celebrities from the showbiz circle are expected to be at the event to pay their last respects to their departed colleague.
