The bodies of Miss Honduras, Maria Jose Alvarado, 19, and her sister were found Wednesday buried in a river bank in the mountainous area of Santa Barbara, officials said.

The reigning beauty queen and her sister, Sofia Trinidad Hernandez, 23, went missing last week only three days before they were to leave for London for the Miss World competition.
The pair had been attending a birthday party Thursday night at a spa in the resort city of Santa Barbara, for Sofia’s boyfriend, Plutarco Antonio Ruiz, who was arrested in connection with the killings. The bodies were found buried in a river bank near the La Aquagua spa in the city about 120 miles northwest of the capital, Tegucigalpa. RIP
