This is through the Commercialization of Agriculture for Socio-Economic Transformation: A Case of Value Addition through Coffee Processing in Kasese District.”
According to Maj. Gen David Kasura-Kyomukama, PS Ministry of Agriculture animal industry and Fisheries, the initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Kasese Local Government and is designed as an integrated model for rural transformation through linkage of coffee value addition, agro-industrialization, and tourism.


The initiative seeks to transform livelihoods by enhancing post-harvest handling as well as promoting valuc additior and domestic coffee consumption in order to empower farmers strengthen market linkages, and boost Uganda’s position in the global coffee sector.
This was during the hand over of the equipment identified to support different Coffee Cooperatives at the Kasese Multipurpose Hall.


The event was presided over by three Permanent Secretaries who include Maj. Gen David Kasura-Kyomukama, PS MAAIF, Hajj Yunus Kakande, Secretary Office of the President, Doreen Katusiime, PS-MOTWA
Through proper use the farmers will participate in advancing Uganda’s agro-industrialization agenda, fostering socio-economic transformation, and showcasing Kasese’s unique coffee heritage.
