Hajjat Hanifah Karadi has called upon all men and fathers to always accompany their wives for antenatal care before and after birth.

According to her, when men are involved in antenatal visits, it creates collective health children / parent bondage within the family and community. This shared responsibility ensures better care for both mother and child.

“By going with your wives for antenatal, we promote understanding, support, and early detection of health issues. This leads to a healthy baby and thus a healthy mother”, she said.

She made these remarks yesterday (Friday 17th July) at Komamboga Health Center III in Kawempe Division during a community health engagement aimed at improving maternal and child health.

Karadi lauded the only man who came with his wife for post Natal out of 20 ladies who had also come for the same service. Out of more than 108 women who came for antenatal, only 8 came with their men.

Speaking on matter, Hon. Karadi blames men’s absence on the world which is only paying attention to raise a girl child leaving the boy child out.

She added that if the two are brought up together, the families would not be having only mothers going for antenatal and perinatal.

“We have concentrated much on the upbringing girl child thereby neglecting boy child but if we can do it concurrently, will have better fathers and husbands in the future,” Hajjat Hanifah Karadi said.

She encouraged men to always to go with their wives for antenatal and perinatal which she says help both parties to know the healthy status of their child well.
