The Minister of Agriculture Animal Industry and Fisheries (MAAIF), Hon. Frank Tumwebaze yesterday held a very productive engagement with the World Bank team led by the visiting Division director for East Africa Mr Qimiao Fan.
The two parties reviewed the performance of the current portfolio of World bank funded projects in the sector and the prospective projects to come under the agriconnect framework.
The Minister thanked the World Bank Group for now focusing on supporting enablers of precision farming like ; Appropriate Irrigation and mechanisation technologies, Support to Private sector players ( large scale commercial farming) and all other interventions aimed at increasing production and productivity in the country.
