Mubende District NRM party Chairperson Hon. Thomas Ainebyoba has announced his intentions to represent Uganda at the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) (2026-2027) and wants to see a transformed East Africa, we can confirm.
This comes after the Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon. Anita Annet Among, officially opened the race to fill two vacant seats in the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA). Hon. Thomas Ainebyoba is seen as the perfect fit for the post because of his capabilities. He led the mobilisation that delivered 71% electoral support and 90,304 votes for President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s re-election in January this year, making Mubende the second best performing district in Buganda and the best in Greater Mubende for the National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Hon. Thomas Ainebyoba wants to strengthen Uganda’s voice in regional energy governance, petroleum policy harmonization, local content development, investment promotion and sustainable resource management.
He combines political loyalty, technocratic expertise, academic leadership and regional policy experience necessary to contribute effectively to legislative work of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA).
