A wave of excitement is sweeping through Uganda’s education community as Afrikan Moon Events prepares to unveil the inaugural Excellence Schools Awards (ESA), a national recognition platform created to spotlight institutions that are transforming learning and nurturing exceptional talent.
Scheduled to take place sooner than later, the awards will unfold under the theme “Celebrating Excellence, Inspiring the Future,” and will run alongside the vibrant Back to School Vibes – TikTok Edition festival. With only days to go, organizers say the event is poised to become one of the most anticipated celebrations of educational achievement in the country.
Afrikan Moon Events says the initiative seeks to honour schools that are redefining academic excellence, fostering creativity, and guiding learners towards leadership and innovation. “These awards are about appreciating institutions that consistently go above and beyond to inspire Uganda’s young people,” the organizers noted.
The debut edition will feature a diverse slate of categories, including Best Performing Secondary School, Best Performing Primary School, School with the Strongest Alumni Network, Most Popular School (Public Vote), and the prestigious School of the Year.
Recognition will also extend to schools excelling in talent, culture, and athletics, with categories such as Best Music, Dance & Drama School and Best in Sports School, among other talent-focused honours.
The three-day festival hosting the awards is expected to attract students, teachers, creators, and performers from different regions, offering a lively arena for schools to display innovation, artistic expression, and unique strengths. Attendees can look forward to performances, exhibitions, and competitions designed to elevate school pride and collaboration.
According to organizers, the awards are not only a celebration of current accomplishments but also a call to schools to aim higher. “Our goal is to fuel the spirit of innovation and continuous improvement—celebrating today while inspiring the future,” Afrikan Moon Events emphasized.
With final preparations underway, the anticipation continues to build. The launch of the Excellence Schools Awards is expected to set a fresh benchmark for recognising academic and co-curricular brilliance as the education sector steps confidently into 2025.
