The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa has hailed the leadership of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni describing him as a man of unwavering commitment, hard work and focus. He said this yesterday as the President picked his nomination forms at the NRM party headquarters at Kyadondo.
Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa said; If you ask me what sets H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni apart, my answer is simple: his unwavering commitment, hard work, and focus. For over five decades, he has dedicated his life to the service of Uganda, first by standing up against bad leadership in the 1970s and 1980s, then by leading the liberation struggle that culminated in the historic victory of 1986. And ever since, by guiding the country along a path of peace, stability, and economic transformation. The results of his tireless efforts are evident across the nation.
For generations like mine and others, born and raised in a time of peace, it is easy to overlook what it took to secure the stability we now enjoy. We did not experience war, but that peace came at a cost. It was built through the sacrifice and courage of H.E. Museveni and the generation of liberators he led. Today, Uganda not only enjoys internal stability, but also contributes to peace beyond its borders, playing a critical role in promoting security and unity across the region.
“We are fortunate as a nation to have a leader who, after all these years, continues to devote his energy and wisdom to national service. This morning, I proudly joined fellow leaders and citizens in welcoming and cheering H.E. President Museveni as he picked nomination forms from the NRM party Electoral Commission to run as the party’s national chairman and presidential flag bearer for the 2026–2031 term. His leadership has shaped Uganda’s past, defines our present, and continues to offer the most trusted path to our future. Let’s support him and NRM come 2026,” Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa said.
