Former Miss Uganda contestant Doreen Kabareebe has officially enlisted in the United States Army, trading the runway for a new career in military service.

The former Miss Uganda 2010 contestant and Miss Nkumba University 2009 1st Runner-Up shared photos of herself taking part in a U.S. military oath ceremony alongside fellow recruits, marking a major career shift from modeling and social media influencing.

In a statement shared online, Kabareebe confirmed the milestone:
“Yes, I swore in the oath today and also signed my contract. I will go for basic training this coming month, I’m so excited about my new journey of career.”

Doreen Kabareebe, a mother of one, has been based in the United States where she lives with her husband Corey Harris, an American photographer and science teacher. The couple officially tied the knot on 26th January 2023.

Known for her bold personality and vibrant fashion career in Uganda, Kabareebe’s move to the U.S. Army has sparked mixed reactions online, with many fans congratulating her on the courageous new chapter.
