Sironko District Woman MP, Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo, has continued to deliver for her people despite being less than a year in Parliament.

Through her aggressive lobbying, four brand-new permanent classrooms have been completed at Bungwanyi Government-Aided Primary School in Mafudu Sub-county, Sironko District.

The transformation did not happen overnight. It began during the 2021 general election campaigns, when Hon. Mafabi visited the school and found pupils studying in ageing, dilapidated structures that posed a serious safety risk to both learners and teachers, especially during the rainy season. The poor infrastructure was also affecting learning and contributing to low enrollment and retention.

Determined to find a lasting solution, Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo engaged Madina Masjid and successfully lobbied the Muslim charity to support the construction of permanent classrooms and the provision of desks for the school.

Her efforts bore fruit, with the charity committing millions of shillings towards the construction and equipping of the four-classroom block.

The project moved from plan to construction, and what was once a symbol of neglect has now become a story of hope and transformation.

The completed classrooms were officially commissioned on September 21, 2026, marking a major milestone for a school that had struggled for years with inadequate infrastructure.

Today, the classrooms are no longer just a promise – they are fully in use by pupils and teachers in their daily learning activities.

The project has provided Bungwanyi Primary School, which has about 400 pupils from Primary One to Primary Seven, with additional space and a safer, more conducive learning environment.

From a school grappling with crumbling structures to one now celebrating modern classrooms, the transformation is all thanks to Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo – a young legislator now ranked among the best performing MPs in the 12th Parliament.
