2026 Updates: Winfred Kabarokore on how she wants to handle the issue of unemployment once she is elected LCV Chairperson Sheema District
Sheema District LC V Chairperson hopeful Ms Winfred Kabarokore has pledged to help government in solving the rampant unemployment among the youth. Ms Winfred Kabarokore is set to contest for Sheema District LC V Chairperson seat come 2026 and she has outlined her reasons for wanting the seat.
Ms Winfred appreciates the Government of Uganda having put in place some legal and policy measures to address the unemployment challenge such as the national Youth Policy for Uganda, the skilling Uganda strategic plan 2021-2022 as well as the national Council-all of which provide a framework for engagement and so forth.
In concord with the Government policy to empower the youth, Winfred said there is need to discuss how youth work fosters positive, trusting relationships which can provide the basis for improving well-being via the underpinning five pillars of youth work-expressive, educative, participative, empowering and inclusive.
“As leaders if we don’t be innovative in line with the Government policy, we keep on donating to the youth, and use them to reach the top, soon we shall cease to have visionary, confident, and ethical leaders,” she says.
Therefore Madam Winfred Kabarokore is advocating for;
Helping kids and teens to explore their interests and potential. Getting curious is the first thing to get empowered.

Give them the space and trust to practice autonomy.
Speak with honesty.
Trust their ability as leaders.
Advocate for youth Rights and opportunities and create safe spaces for expression
Foster mentoring Relationships.
With our Youth empowered we shall enjoy the intergenerational equity.
