2026 Updates: This is Part X of our list of individuals set to contest for 2026 Parliamentary seat
As 2026 general elections gets closer, different personalities have come up to declare their quest for seats in the 12th Parliament. Here is the lists!!
Ayikobua Isaac
He is former National Unity Platform (NUP) flag bearer for Ayivu East Division Arua City and he is coming again for the same Constituency.
He contested as a member of Parliament in 2021 where he was in the second position. He is a lawyer by profession and also holds Bachelors Degree in International Relations and Human Rights . He is a challenger of the ruling Government in West Nile and Arua City in Particular. He is a fearless and Vocal Politician whom many people in Arua refer to as Wadri Kasiano 2 in the area.
Richard Kwizera
He is set to contest for the Member for Bufumbira North in Kisoro District on FDC ticket.
He is a Medical Public Health Specialist and Health Educator and is also the Director of SKB Medical Services.
Tumusiime Fredrick
He is set to contest as the Member of Parliament for Youth Western Uganda. Since primary school, Fredrick has been a leader( Time keeper in primary, head monitor in O’Level, church Organiser in Mukono, once president of KIU students in Western Uganda & among others. He is all set for the big task ahead.
Okia Devis
He is planning on standing for the MP of Kibuku Constituency in Kibuku District. He is currently the Youth chairperson Lwatama Parish and also works with Yalelo Uganda #1 fresh fish.
He studied Fisheries at Fisheries Training Institute Entebbe. He said the
youths of Kibuku have asked him to contest as their MP on NUP Party ticket come 2026.
“Since all of them showed me support when i contested for youth chair person Lwatama sub county, I will not fail them come 2026.
Kaluba Aminsi
He is set to battle for the Makindye East Constituency Kampala MP seat come 2026. He is on the ground mobilizing for support and is set to stand on the National Unity Platform (NUP) Party ticket.
Cosmas Kato
He wants to contest for the MP seat Ruhinda County in Mitooma District come 2026-31. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Logistics management. He said he is fighting for the lost glory of” Equality, Liberty and Fraternity” in Ruhinda. He is ready to serve the people of Ruhinda County and Uganda at large on the National Unity Platform (NUP) ticket.
“Together we can and we must liberate Uganda for the rule of law and democracy. For God and my country”, he says.
J’abwor Simon Thiangamoe
He is set to contest for Labwor County in Abim District. He is already on the ground mobilizing for support. He is well fitted and many people see him as the future of Labwor County.
Wandera Edrin
He wants to contest for Buhemba Constituency in Namayingo District.
The 25 year-old holds a degree in Law from Cavendish University and he is also the CEO of Changing Mindz Africa (CMA), a charity organization that looks after children through providing scholastic materials and the elderly people in the society in Buhemba Community in Namayingo District.
He wants to work on roads that are in bad conditions, promote education among the families and fight the increasing rate of unemployment among the youth in the constituency.
Ojangole Emmanuel
He is set to contest for MP Bukedea County in Bukedea district 2026 on an independent ticket. He says time for change has come and is now.
