2026 Updates: This is Part VIII of individuals who have shown interests in contesting for the MP seats
The 2026 general elections fever is getting up as more individuals have declared their intentions to join 12th Parliament. In our continuing series, we bring you part 8;
Stephen Mamawi
He is vying for the MP Adjumani West Constituency in Adjumani District. He is a finalist student of Law at Uganda Christian University (UCU) Mukono, a holder of diploma in Law from Law Development Center (LDC) and former speaker Adjumani Students Association.
He is also the Chairperson Lions House Moyo SS, former member of debating club Moyo SS, UNSA representative Moyo SS and a member of YCS Moyo SS. He is an articulate vibrant leader Adjumani West constituency awaits.
Arop Simon Peter Clement
He is Vying for MP Kilak South 2026-2031 on NRM Party ticket. He is currently the District councilor Representing Workers In Amuru Local government and also the NRM spokesperson Amuru District.
He is already doing a lot of ground work and mobilisation for support.
Waiswa Ibrahim
He is set to contest for Luuka South in Luuka District come 2026. He is already on the ground mobilizing for support.
Wanyama Robert
He has set his plans on representing the people of Namayingo South come 2026.
Robert, a Civil Engineer by profession doubles as the Director of Watco Engineering Services Ltd, ( dealing in civil works). He has already set his ground work in the area mobilizing for the support.
Bwire Pascal Dawayi
He is set for Busia Municipality. He is currently an information scientist at St. Lawrence University.
He holds bachelors degree in library and information science from St. Lawrence University, UACE from Rock high school Tororo as well as UCE. He already has the team on the ground.
Mulirire Daniel
He is coming into the contest for the area MP of Budiope East and he is set to tussle it out with the incumbent Hon. Moses Magogo.
Eng. Muzoora Owen
He is set to contest for Rukungiri Municipality on the National Unity Platform (NUP) party ticket. He is already doing ground work.
Isiko Bosco
He hails from Namusikizi Bugaya in Buyende District and he is set to contest for Budiope East Constituency in the same district.
Otaget Aron
He is set to contest for Kanyumu County in Kumi District 2026. He is a member of Patriotic League Uganda ready to tussle it out with Hon. Opolot Simon Peter Okwalinga of NRM Party. He confirmed to us that ground work mobilisation is ongoing in both Sub-Counties in the Consistency.
Meda Kizito
He is contesting for the MP position for Iki Iki County in Budaka District and wants to unseat incumbent MP Hon. Robert Kasolo. He holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Business Studies.
He has previously worked in many organisations including Uganda Christan University (UCU) Mukono among others.
Amunyang Betty
She is set to contest for Woman MP for Moroto District 2026. She is an experienced community social worker who has had a great impact on youth and ladies in Moroto and across the country.
She is a true person to represent the women of Moroto in 12th Parliament.
Richard NM Ruhinda
He is vying for Butemba Constituency in Kyankwanzi District and he has dubbed it ‘Triumphant Takeover’ come 2026.
Byangu Faruk
He is to contest for Bungokho North Constituency on National Unity Platform (NUP) Party ticket. He is already on the ground mobilizing for support.
Wangatya Nickson
He says Never give up and the 24 year old is Vying for the MP Bulambuli Constituency in Bulambuli District. He is currently pursuing Medicine at KIU Western Campus. He studied at Buyaka Parents SS and Mbale SS.
