2026 Updates!!! Part I; Current Members of Parliament likely to return for another term in 2026 due to outstanding performance

The 11th Parliament Members have only two years to end their term of office. And those who are performing well will surely earn themselves another team in the 12th Parliament 2026. Here is ‘Part One’ of the current Members of Parliament who are likely to return if they contest again;

Lillian Aber
She is the Woman Member of Parliament for Kitgum District. Hon. Aber who doubles as the Minister of State for Disaster Preparedness, Relief and Refugees after her recent appointment, is surely headed for another term come 2026.

She has been a performer both in Parliament and for her people back in the district. She will find no issues in being re-elected again.

Thomas Tayebwa
Despite being the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, the status that adds an advantage for him to be re-elected, Hon. Tayebwa has been instrumental in service delivery in his constituency of Ruhinda North in Mitooma District.

In fact ever since he took over, service delivery has more than tripled in the area. The infrastructure in Ruhinda speaks volume and he has turned his constituency into a modern one. It is very hard to contest against him at the moment. Electricity, safe water, roads ,health, education and communication are all available in the area.

Frank Tumwebaze
He has become the darling of Kibale County East in Kamwenge District. Hon. Frank who doubles as the minister of Agriculture has been a present figure for his constituents in the last 15 years or plus providing safe water, electricity, health, agriculture and education. He has truly cemented his place over there.

Roland Bish Ndyomugyenyi
He has been nicknamed Mr Fixer, this Rukiga County MP has done more than enough to get another term. He has been there for his people and has truly delivered.

He recently donated high breed avocado seedlings to all sub counties in his constituency.

Hon. Roland has also introduced the Bish Education Trust Fund where he is sponsoring so many needy children in the area. He has been instrumental in building churches, schools, roads and other institutions. He serves on PAC Central and Physical Infrastructure committees. He was also on PAC COSASE for 2 and half years.

Katusiime Annet Mugisha
The Bushenyi District Woman MP will surely be re-elected if she wishes so. On service delivery to her people, she has been present enough to deserve another term.

Hon. Katusiime Annet Mugisha has been involved in setting up and support to village saving groups for women, men and youths in the whole district.

Championing establishment of Bamugisha Community Beneficiaries SACCO where about 2000 people are members.
Lobbying for electricity, water supply, school and health infrastructure to various communities in the district.
Philanthropic support to various schools, churches and health institutions in the district.
Effective representation of people of Bushenyi on matters affecting tea growers, road infrastructure, health facilities and disasters resulting from extreme weather events. Hon. Katusiime sits on Education Committee and Budget Committee.

Rosemary Nyakikongoro
Sheema District Woman MP is another who will surely be re-elected. She has been instrumental in serving her people.

Dickson Kateshumbwa aka Katesh
Sheema Municipality has been a crack in the constituency as well as the entire Sheema district. He has been at outstanding performer with excellent record at service delivering.

In order to strengthen oversight in the health services in the Municipality, Hon. Katesh established an MP’s Advisory Committee on Health. This committee is responsible for monitoring the health centers and engaging the communities so as to generate a monthly report to the Member of Parliament for follow up and action. This committee has carried out impromptu visits to health facilities and engaged the health workers. The committee is the ‘eye’ of the MP on health matters on the ground.
Lobbied for 30 beds for Kabwohe HC 4 that he delivered on behalf of Ministry of health.
Katesh has also worked on Electricity ensuring that areas get access to power and water, roads and infrastructure as well as Education and Sports.
On Economic welfare, he has engaged the constituents on the benefits
Parish development model through public engagements.
He has also been actively involved in agriculture and Enterprise development including Sheema Trade Show.
The MP also does regular shows on Sheema Broadcasting Services (SBS) Radio Station 90.1 FM to update his people on what is happening in the constituency.
Hon. Katesh attends social events for his constituents and has supported faith and Spiritual as well as Fundraising events of colleagues. He participates very well in Parliamentary committees and Plenary debates.
Hon. Kateshumbwa has actively participated during committee sessions where he is a member  and that is; Member on Presidential Advisory Committee on Budget (PACOB), Member Budget Committee of Parliament, Member Environment and Natural resources committee and  Chairperson Parliamentary Forum on East African Affairs.
The Adhoc committee where he was the chairperson that led the investigations on the Bujagali  energy limited was a great success and all recommendations were adopted by the Parliament
and positively welcomed by the Executive.

Dan Kimosho
The Kazo County MP has been an outstanding performer both in parliament and constituency. He will surely find no difficulties in retain his seat.

In his term so far, Hon. Dan has lobbied Health centres 3 for three sub counties engari 2) and Nshunga HC 111.
Lobbied for works machines that have been of great help in opening the roads
Roofed the Catholic parish in Kazo with Support of Rt Hon Speaker Anitah Annett Among. He donated a Public Ambulance at Health Centre.
In Parliament, he has Chaired Naguru,Nakawa probe and has chaired
Physical infrastructure Committee and then Deputy Chair Parliamentary Covid taskforce.
Bought a vehicle for Catholic priest at Kyabwayera parish
Supported community and women groups across the constituency. Bought land for Migina S/C.
He is also supporting youth in sports and women and boda boda groups as well as Several religious groupings.

Joel Ssenyonyi
The Nakawa West MP and current Leader of Opposition in Parliament has been an outstanding performer.

Jane Bainomugisha
Ibanda District Woman MP has not disappointed. She has been a good provider and performer for her people. She will find it easy to retain her seat.

Kiyaga Hillary Innocent aka Hilderman
He became a boss when he surprised everyone and defeated the then tough Amelia Kyambadde as MP for Mawokota North County in Mpigi District. He has been an outstanding performer.

He will truly return to Parliament because he has been there for his people.

Shartis Musherure Kutesa
He succeeded his father Sam Kutesa and she has been an outstanding performer for Mawogola North County in Sembabule District. She is always on the ground following up ongoing government projects. She is a good supervisor.

Peter Ogwang
His constituents in Ngariam County know that Hon. Peter Ogwang is such a performer. He has delivered well for his people as well as the entire Katakwi District.

Hon. Ogwang is always on the ground over seeing ongoing projects in the area to make sure they are worked on well.

Annet Anita Among
Dubbed The triple AAA, the Speaker of 11th Parliament is well fitted to retain her seat come 2026. She has been delivering for her people and with this backing of her office status, she is surely coming back. She recently launched state of the art hospital in Bukedea District.

Mathias Mpuuga
Despite his recent standoff with his party National Unity Platform, the former Leader of Opposition will have no issues in retaining his seat for Nyendo-Mukungwe Division because he has been an outstanding performer as per now.

Charles Ayume
After defying all odds by defeating Hon. Anite Evelyn, Ayume earned himself lion status in Koboko Municipality, the constituency he represents. He is well fitted to earn himself another term in 2026.

Alioni Yorke Odria
The Aringa South MP will surely retain his seat. He has been doing well and him being social and a people’s person , he will surely find no difficulties in retaining his seat.

Moses Kamuntu
Another young blood in Parliament, Hon. Moses Kamuntu will surely retain his seat as Rubanda County West MP in Rubanda District. He has done enough for his people to guarantee him another term.

Hon. Kamuntu is a Member of Committee on Natural Resources and Climate Change.

Among his achievements; he has so far seen Muko IV into destruct hospital and then turning two Health IIIs into health center IVs,  Bulky water for Rubanda district and part of the team raising 19bn for district hospital, increase of revenue sharing from Bwindi national park, lobbying for the upgrading Muko Katuna Road to tarmac.
He has been instrumental in the issue of wetland evictions which was stopped until the government gets alternative.
Water schemes for Muko already in progress, Fighting to get hard to reach status for Rubanda district, opening new feder roads eg Rwaseyeza.The issue of Batwa to get permanent settlement being worked on under his regime.
Opening integrated steel plant in Muko and part of the team that brought text books for all schools in Rubanda District.
He has so far donated 40000 packs of hoes which cost him UGX 500m.
He has also distributed 5000 bags of cement to churches, hospitals and schools and supported Muko Health III with 200m. Hon. Kamuntu employs over  200 people in his businesses.
Lutamaguzi Ssemakula
He is the member of Parliament for Nakaseke Central. He is a very vocal legislator and has not been shy talking about any issues.
He has been instrumental in construction of roads, hospitals, schools and churches. He has also fought off the issue of land grabbing in Nakaseke and the whole district.

Noame Kabasharira
She is the Member of Parliament for Rushenyi County in Ntungamo District. Noame has been involved in several projects including infrastructure development such as roads, health, water, education and electricity.

She has also lobbied beds for some health centers in the constituency.

She has contributed to the village development model whereby some people have gotten cows, goats, pigs respectively for the poverty eradication courtesy of her.

Solomon Silwany
He is the Member of Parliament for Bukooli Central and another one who deserves another term because he has done a lot of developments in Bukooli Central and Bugiri in general. The locals even call him MP of Bugiri District.

He has been instrumental in buying land for schools, constructing churches, Health Centers like Buwunga, Busowa, Buwuni, Budaya SS land, Bulesa SS land and buying Deputy District Khadi a vehicle, County Sheikh motorcycle, rehabilitation of roads in Bukooli Central and maintenance of borehole all over Bukooli Central and many other support to many people in the constituency so he surely deserves another term.
