2026 Update: As we continue our 12th Parliament series, we bring you Part VII of individuals who announced their interests in MP seats
The 2026 General Elections are getting closer and closer and this has led individuals to start planning for the battles ahead. Here are some of the members;
Dhama Charles Wilson
He is the “Youth brand” and “Elders Hope”, and a fresh chapter for Adjumani East Constituency 2026. He is truly ready to make the constituency shine.
He holds Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, a certified procurement professional (CIPS), a Masters Student of Salford University.
He is the former chairperson Adjumani Students Association. He is also an International humanitarian development worker with over 13 years of experience. He is truly the man for Adjumani East come 2026.
Eyobu James Uhuru
He wants to contest for Northern Uganda Youth MP on NRM ticket and is already on the ground mobilizing for the support.
He is a finalist for Bachelor’s degree in Microfinance and Banking at Kyambogo University.
Youthful James studied A’level at the prestigious Cornerstone Leadership Academy CLA _Nakasongola where leadership and character development is a two years class lessons.
In 2023, he was in Ethiopia and Namibia for Pan African Youth Debate champions and a delegate of Youth Connect Africa Summit in 2022 Kigali Rwanda.
“All those domestic and foreign experiences makes me the best fit for Northern Uganda Youth MP on NRM ticket,” says James.
Nakintu Sumayiah
She is coming in for Rubaga South MP come 2026 on the National Unity Platform (NUP) Party ticket.
She is already on the ground mobilizing for support ready for the battle.
Onyango Edmond
He is coming in to contest for the MP Tororo Municipality 2026. He is so much on the ground. He holds a degree from makerere University School of Social Science.
Previously he attended Molo primary school, Kanah High school, Holy Cross sss, Busoga College Mwiri and Makerere University . He now works with Nilus Uganda.
Muzira Graceous
He is a social worker by profession and hails from Buyende District. He is hoping to contest the MP Budiope West constituency come 2026. He says he is all set!!!
Awekonimungu Proscovia
She is coming on the post of Woman MP for Pakwach District 2026.
She holds a Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management from Kyambongo University (KYU) , Diploma in Procurement and logistics Management from UCC Pakwach and Certificate in ICT from UCC Pakwach.
She is the daughter of the Lt. Binegas Richard of Alwii Pyang Ju’Pa Atia (Nyakwar masinga) and Wanichan Florence Of Pangere. She was born on 26th Nov 1991.
Sheillah Princess Obia
She is coming in again as the Woman MP for Arua City. She came second under NUP ticket but she has since crossed to the NRM party.
Bithola Irene
She is coming in as Nebbi District Woman MP 2026 on NRM Party ticket. She came second after being beaten by Current MP Hon. Acibu Agnes in the 2021 general elections.
Manano Claude
He is coming in for Padyere County in Nebbi District. He is a lawyer by profession.
Aduma Yeero Justus
He is set to contest for MP Maracha East Constituency in Maracha District. He calls himself ‘The Caring Voice’.
Uyikcwinyu Claurence
He is due to contest for the MP Padyere County in Nebbi District.
Afidra O.Ronald
He has set his plans on representing Lower Madi County come 2026. He subscribes to the NRM Political Party.
Gerai Denis
He is a Youthful and Ideologically strong leader and has shown interest to vy for MP Upper Madi Okolo Consistency come 2026 to oust the current MP Hon. Etuka Isaak.
Aston Nahamya Bahemuka
He is set to contest for youth MP for Western Uganda on NRM ticket. He studied at Bukuba Primary School in Kashenshero, Mbarara High School and KIU Western Campus. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Gabantu George
He wants to contest for youth MP central region on NRM ticket . He is a hardworking young man with integrity and wants to change the lives of youth in central and National at large.
Makumbi Enock Basajja Ssubi
He is a male Youth councillor and minister of education and sports Kayabwe Town council. He has an oculus to us officially that he wants to contest as MP Mawokota South 2026 in Sembabule District.
He holds a diploma in information systems for science and is currently doing a bachelor’s degree in information systems and technology from Makerere university. He subscribes to the National Unity Platform (NUP) party ticket
