Ellah, Alex Muhangi, Crystal Newman set to host CMVA 2017

The 2017 Club Music Video Awards (CMVA) is set to take  place on 18th March at Victoria Hall, Kampala Serena Hotel. The glamorous event will be an explosive one with a trio of emcees as celebrated Radio personality Crystal Angella Newman will be joined by ‘mukiga’ funny man Alex Muhangi and sexy backstage Queen Ellah. “It’s going to be massive, entertaining, explosive, fun and lively. We will not disappoint you,” The trio said.


“Well let’s see if Alex Muhangi will handle the heat from his co-host Crystal Angella Newman and backstage queen Ellah,” Club posted.

Television star Sheilah Gashumba will host the first ever Blue Carpet experience alongside Denzel. She first confirmed the developments through her social media platforms.

Sexy Ellah talks about her experience with ‘The Second Chance’

Former Miss Uganda and Uganda Big Brother Africa Representative Stellah Nambumbwe popularly known as Ellah has been praised for acting well in the NTV Uganda new series ‘Second Chance’. Some people who watched the first episode yesterday have rated Ellah as the best actor so far.


She told this website that it’s an honour for her to receive such positive response but added that the entire cast is ‘Superb’. “I think it’s too early to judge. However I aim to do even better,” Ellah said.


About her experience with series, Ellah said it has been great and praised the team for being superb and supportive.


The actress said in the next five years, she wants to be at Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) and The Oscars.


Second Chance airs on NTV Uganda every Monday and Tuesday at 8:05pm.


Ellah, Roger Mugisha shine as NTV premieres Second Chance series

NTV Uganda has this evening premiered the Ugandan version of the Mexican telenovela “Second Chance”, one of the most popular television soap operas in the world. Former Uganda National Examinations Board chairman, Fagil Mandy plays “Pedro” in “second Chance Uganda”.

Former big brother socialite Stella Nantumbwe aka Ellah plays Isabel, the notorious but sexy young wife to Pedro. In the original opera, Isabela is played by Mexican telenovela actress Lorena Rojas who died of cancer last year.


Celebrated city MC Roger Mugisha playing Cuban star actor Mario Antonio Cimarro Paz aka Salvador’s role is also part of the soap that has got Ugandans talking already.

NTV boss Aggie Konde said at the Serena hotel premiere that the soap will be run across 152 countries on Telemundo. “That is a good way to sell the brand Uganda,” Konde observed.

She also revealed that NTV Uganda received over 3000 applications to act in “Second Chance Uganda.”


Mandy, one of the lead actors started acting in 1965 and last acted seriously around 1989.

“I have been acting, since I was in S.2 at Lubiri Secondary school, that is around 1965. Believe in yourself and never try to be someone else.”

Ellah has of recent been involved in lots of acrrtions and one being ‘Think Like A Man’ the musical production which was staged at Theatre La Bonita in July. She played her role perfectly and she is likely to repeat it in Second Chance series.

Gorgeous Ellah talks to Showbiz Uganda about her career, love life and lessons from Miss Uganda, BBA experience

Stellah Nantumbwe aka Ellah is  the former Miss Uganda 2013 and  The Big Brother Africa (BBA) Hot Shot Ugandan representative. We at Showbiz Uganda (SB) caught up with the gorgeous Ellah who recently acted in a stage Play (Musical) titled ‘Think Like a Man’ and she told us about her life, career and her role in the play. SB: When and how did you start acting?

Ellah: I would say Primary school, Music Dance and Drama (MDD) has always been my passion. But Professionally, I have been acting for two years. I feel like I’m still growing as but I’m looking forward to the journey and to getting even better at it.

SB: How has your BBA and Miss Uganda experience helped you in life?

Ellah: The exposure definitely gave me a career boost. Both were life changing experiences. I’m still honored to have been chosen.

SB: What was your dream job?

Ellah: … Don’t know how to answer that. However, I aim to follow my passion and do things I love. You succeed at things you are truly passionate about.


SB: Of recent you are acted in a Stage Play (Musical) titled ‘Think Like A Man’. Tell us about it and your role?

Ellah: I play the successful Young woman, who has trouble finding love because she has so many rules (financial ones included) but ends up falling in love with a man who breaks all those rules.

SB: Describe yourself in three words

Ellah: Enthusiastic, Charismatic and Bold

SB: Who is your favorite actor?

Ellah: Taraji P. Henson

SB: Tell us about your love life

Ellah: It’s existent, but never up for discussion. When the time is right however, it will be.


SB: What are the three things that you can’t live without?

Ellah: Family, God and Oxygen

SB: What have been your ups and low moments in your career?

Ellah: I have had plenty of both I can’t name them individually. However the ups and downs are both vital to where I am in my life now and how my career is growing.


SB: What do you do in your leisure time?

Ellah: Music, Movies and Food

SB: Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

Ellah: Alive (IJN). Happy and extremely successful!


SB: What is your comment about acting industry in Uganda?

Ellah: It’s definitely blooming; Ugandans are more receptive to theatre and Ugandan Cinema.

SB: How do you look up to?

Ellah: My Mother, and every woman that has made something of herself. Be it big or small.


SB: What message do you have for your fans?
